About Sculpture

In prior times white marble was reserved for Gods and such like. For me working with this  material has always been essentially a game with its elitist connotation.

In particular this can be seen in one of my earlier works “milk bottles and other packages” created in 1985/86 in Laas Marble Statuario. Here I try to show how things made for a one-time use become almost eternal on one of the innumerable garbage dumps of our modern civilization. I wanted to wrench them away from their commonness, and I hope to make people think about the determination of those things.

For me sculpting is always a staging of objects. It is  not reproducing reality. It tells stories. It is really important for me, that this is done with emotional and intellectual sincerity.
